First we would like to show you one agents site that has done very well.  

Paulette started Paulding County, Georgia in November 1997. She has sold over 50 text ads and several homepages attached to these listings. Each homepage she sold earned her a 35% commission.  

This is how Paulette did it:  

  1. Contacted us with her intent. 
  2. Attached a list of local government contact numbers to an e-mail. 
  3. Mailed a color brochure from the Chamber of Commerce (for homepage photos) 
  4. Then notified the local newspaper and submitted a press release annoucing the coming of Paulding County Online. 
  5. Made a list of local businesses. 
  6. She created a "info package" on her computer. 
  7. Contacted the businesses by phone and FAXed the "interested" a copy of her package. 
  8. As the listing flowed in she entered them in the her database.
  9. Then collected the cash. 
  10. We then billed her for her listings and she kept the rest. 
Some of these listing clients decided to have homepages designed and hosted by us.  
This is how she went about setting these up:  
  1. First she discussed the homepage pricing with the client. 
  2. A couple clients wanted their own domains so she showed them our domain pricing. (keep in mind we only pay commision on the set-up fees for domains, monthly chrages are billed directly from us and no commision fees are paid. The markup is too slender.) 
  3. Collected all the text infomation that the clients wanted on their pages. 
  4. Got a copy of the company's logo and some photos of their work. 
  5. Sent the information to us. 
  6. We created the pages within a week and put them online. 
  7. She notified the client how to view them. 
  8. We "tweeked" the pages to the clients wishes. 
  9. She collected a check made out to: "Quantum Marketing Systems" 
  10. We credited her with the 35% commission against the $10 listing fees she owed us. 
Paulette decided the $40 suggested listing fee wasn't enough so she now sell her listings for $60 thus making $50 per listing as opposed to the $30 we talk of in the "how much can I make" section.
